We went to Dayton, Ohio last weekend for an amazing adventure of a trip. Levin's best friend from back home got baptized and married back to back.

We couldn't miss this momentous event. I had never been to the midwest before but rather enjoyed the slightly rolling hills and the Joann's that

were scattered about ;) No really its a beautiful area. Matt Palmer grew up with Levin and the two of them gave their teachers a run for their money. They were both good kids but we'll just say Matt had a bit of a wild streak.

Levin had talked to Matt about the church and had always hoped his good example had made an impact on Matt. Well when Matt called Levin a few weeks ago and said we gotta talk, Levin thought the worst and never expected to hear what Matt had to say!

Matt had met a girl...not just any girl...a mormon girl ;)

This girl Connie was trying to get her life in order and wasn't sure this wild airforce guy was right for her but ended up giving him a pity date and the rest is history. Matt found out what church she went to and was so excited! I want to go to church he said and you have to meet my friend Levin. Connie told me that they were out with some friends, she was sitting behind just watching while Matt was about his usual affairs and he could tell she was uncomfortable and unhappy. He came over to her and said I'm done and at that point he changed his life. He realized that all that "fun stuff" he had done before had never really given him happiness and that Connie was the key to his eternal happiness.

Matt was baptized Friday, June 19, 2009 a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by his best bud Levin. The next day Saturday, June 20, 2009 they were married with high hopes of being sealed together forever in a year's time. They have known each other for so short a time but you can tell they are made for each other and it is no accident that they met and are now together. They have a tough road ahead but I know they can remain faithful. We had such an amazing time getting to know Connie and

spending time with Matt. It was good to also meet Matt's grandparents who drove up from Greenville and of course to see Grandma Gunter who hitched a ride up for the occasion.

Moral of the story...you never know who is watching and what effect the example you give can have in their life!
