Chasing the phone!

Ansley was so cute the other day. She has just started rocking on back and forth when she gets up on her hands and knees. I'm pretty sure its called creeping and it was so cute. She was playing with her "cell" phone I was enjoying teasing her and watching her. I hope you enjoy it too!

Lentil Burgers

I told my mom I would get her this recipe courtesy of www.recipezaar.com
Although we never have all the ingredients so I just use season-all and basil and lemon juice, an egg, the lentils, water, onion, oats and lemon juice. We also shred carrots and put it in them. Then we fry them up in a little olive oil and we normally only get like 6 burgers but they are fat burgers and they are very filling. Oh and we season our lentils with chicken stock. We don't normally bake them. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan, simmer the lentils in water with the bay leaf until the lentil skins split easily, about 45 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, cook the onion and celery in the vegetable oil, stirring until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ingredients except the oats and bread crumbs.
  4. Process the oats in a blender or food processor until finely ground.
  5. Combine the oats and bread crumbs with the lentil mixture.
  6. Shape the mixture into 12 patties while it's still warm.
  7. (Freeze at this point) Bake at 400 degrees on non-stick baking sheet (sprayed with Pam) for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Vocal Cord Tests

Well Ansley has just started testing out the range of her vocal cords. She is making all kinds of grunts and screams and it is so cute. The louder crying I could do without but I love to hear her talk. She loves to talk during church. This video was taken about a month ago and I finally was able to edit it down to just get the good stuff. Picasa 3 beta by google is awesome. You should download it if you don't already have it!

Movin' On Up

She is so ready to crawl. I think she will crawl before she learns how to eat. This video also showcases her talking abilities. I love this little girl!

Rolling Over

I've been terrible about posting videos. Probably because the videos I take are so long that they take too long to load and then I just give up. But here is Ansley rolling over. She is just everywhere. It is getting harder to change her diaper and I sure can't leave her on the bed anymore by herself even for a second. She is so fast!

The other day she grabbed onto the side of the crib as she slept. We had to raise the side of the crib cause she hit her head on the the side. When it was lowered she would look over the side and cry at us. It looked like she was trying to escape.

Musical Ansley

We have been to several volleyball games to support Levin as he plays in the pep band. Ansley got the opportunity to play her daddy's trumpet at one of the games. She knows how to buzz her lips but she is more concerned about eating the mouthpiece than making any noise. Maybe later on she will master trumpet playing.Ansley playing trumpet

Talents

Heavenly Father has blessed me and Levin with so many talents. I feel grateful for all the things that I can do. I look forward to the day when I can teach Ansley some of those talents. I wonder what talents Ansley will have one day. Here are some showcasing of possible future talents.
Maybe she'll play the piano....

Or be a champion texter....

Or a professional swing tester....

Or a tennis player like her dad.....
Or a bouncer in a club (she' s not messin around)

Pacific Ocean

Ansley took her first dip into the pacific ocean on Saturday. Dad and Uncle Leckie built a sand castle while Ansley and I watched. We forgot her hat but thankfully we had Leckie's knee brace and then her hooded towel. She loved to grab at the sand and then suck on her sandy hands. She didn't seem to mind the water even when a big wave got us all wet. Hope you enjoy this collage of pictures show-casing our day.

Green Hat

Ansley was so cute wearing this green hat. She just turned 4 months old and weighs 14 lbs. We've had such a hard time deciding what size her diaper should be. Hopefully we made a good decision by buying size 2 which goes up to 18 lbs. So far her rate of growth seems to be pretty average. She is right on with the size of clothes wearing 3-6 months. Her three month clothes are just starting to get snug cause she is a long baby. If you look closely at these photos you will notice a bit of drool. She is the drool queen!
